Outdoor Building Specifications

14mm shiplap or 28mm tongue and groove depending on which building you choose. The roof and floor are constructed from 14 mm planed tongue and groove boards. Felt is supplied although we also have shingle style roofing felt available as an optional extra. The doors and windows are supplied fully glazed with 4mm plate glass. External doors are fitted with mortice locks, extra security can be attained by fitting a hasp and staple. The buildings are supplied completely untreated. It is STRONGLY recommended that the building is treated immediately after construction (weather permitting). For a base we recommend 5x4 concrete bearers, we can supply or supply and fit, please ask for a free quote.

Base Preparation

It is essential that your building is erected onto an adequate base. It must be square, level and firm. If the base is not level and you have opted to have us erect the building, we regret that we cannot do so until a suitable base is laid. The building is only as good as the base it sits on.

Planning Permission

Planning permission is not generally required as the Cocklestorm range of garden buildings are classed as "Portable Buildings", however the interpretations of planning requirements does vary with different authorities.
